About the Organisation
Established in 1973, Topdeck is a holiday provider with a passion for organising unforgettable travel experiences for 18 - 30 somethings.
Trips include sightseeing throughout Europe, ski and sailing holidays, adventures in Egypt, Morocco, Jordan and Israel, and even African safaris! All transport, accommodation, and many meals are provided; therefore customers enjoy a hassle and stress free holiday.
Topdeck focuses on providing unique experiences to travellers - from Gourmet picnics in Paris, to overnight stays in 12th Century castles in the Rhine Valley. As a result, the company endeavours to create fantastic and lasting memories for their passengers.
About the Opportunity
Topdeck is experiencing a significant period of expansion, and therefore has an exciting opportunity for a number of Trip Leaders to join their dynamic team!
The company is looking for enthusiastic, people-focused individuals, who have a passion for travel and the desire to give a group of passengers the Trip of a Lifetime!
This is a challenging role as Trip Leaders need to be able to organise and motivate large groups of people, while making sure that all aspects of the trip go off without a hitch. The successful candidates will have to be flexible and adaptable while remaining positive in what can sometimes be difficult situations.
This is a big responsibility, and the successful candidates will need to be prepared for a challenge. However, it's also a great way to meet people from all over the world, and an excellent opportunity to combine work with travelling around Europe.
Applicants should meet the following criteria to be considered for a position:
- Able to work in Europe. Candidates must therefore possess (or be able to obtain) one of the following: a UK or EU passport; a full two year working visa, or "right of abode" for the UK.
- Be well travelled. European travel and/or participation in a group trip would be highly advantageous.
- Experience in leading and talking in front of groups of people, although not essential, would certainly be beneficial.
Successful candidates will be taken on a 6 week training trip at the end of March/early April 2010 in order to prepare them for the role of Trip Leader. This fantastic learning experience will involve a week in London, followed by approximately 5 weeks travelling around the most popular countries, cities and sites in Europe. The trip will allow you to experience the thrills and challenges of group travel first hand.
Crew are expected to make a commitment of at least two summer seasons. Topdeck offers extremely competitive remuneration, which will be outlined if you are successful in obtaining an interview, in order to attract high calibre candidates. Once you have successfully completed the training there are nearly no costs (i.e. no need to pay for accommodation, meals etc whilst you are working on the road)!
This is just the first step as once you have gained experience in Europe; there are excellent opportunities in other regions.
Not only does Topdeck offer a unique and invigorating career, the company is held in high regard around the world and working with Topdeck will open many doors in the travel and tourism industry.
To apply, please complete the application form below. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in Australia, New Zealand or London.
