About the Opportunity

STEPS has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Team Leader to join its Alice Springs Team.

Reporting to the Site Manager, the main aim of this pivotal role is to support, develop and supervise the Training Team to deliver a specific range of training services and promote other services to meet established targets, in a productive, client-centred, community-based and financially aware working environment.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role will be to:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Training Team, to ensure a consistently high standard of client service is provided;
  • Deliver outstanding ongoing client support, as required under established contracts, by developing and fostering client relationships, and promoting and maintaining a high level of client service focus by all staff within the Training Team;
  • Working with the Site Manager and other members of the Site Operations Team to provide an integrated range of services to meet client needs;
  • Coordinating operations and procedures for all training programs;
  • Developing, maintaining and reviewing individual performance plans and ensuring the achievement of all agreed outcomes align with the Strategic Plan and other operational plans; and
  • Assisting the Site Manager to meet and maintain targets and standards required for tender compliance, efficiently and cost-effectively.

The successful candidate will be a results-focused and goal-driven team leader with demonstrated supervisory experience in a similar service environment. You will need an understanding of contemporary issues in the provision of services to disadvantaged and culturally diverse clients, as well as sound knowledge of the principles of continuous improvement, quality management, employment legislation and customer service standards. Certificate IV in Training & Assessment is required to be considered for this role.

STEPS is looking for a supportive 'people person' with excellent coordination and relationship building skills. You will require strong communication, analytical, computer skills, the ability to manage a team during times of change and innovation, and demonstrated flexibility and enthusiasm for addressing unexpected new challenges at short notice.

A current C class driver's licence and criminal history check are essential.
