About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for an Apprenticeships Employment Consultant to join Employment Focus's dedicated team servicing Metropolitan Melbourne.
This position is responsible for delivering quality training and placing young people and other pre-apprenticeship students into employment. This person will be a leader/ambassador for the program, they will be required to train and build rapport with TAFE students and assist in placing these students into employment.
More specifically your duties will include:
- Preparing for and delivering interactive training sessions/workshops associated with assisting people gain skills for entering the workforce;
- Working with the marketing team to place clients into Apprenticeships and Traineeships;
- Assisting the Community and Youth Employment Co-ordinator to extensively network among employers, TAFE's, councils and other agencies that support and work with clients and/or people considering employment within an Apprenticeship or Traineeship;
- Working closely with clients to develop a team approach, drawing on internal employment and training staff/resources and external support agencies and existing support programs as needed;
- Helping to drive the success of Apprenticeships Connect through building key partnerships with teachers and students of TAFE colleges to ensure maximum numbers of enrolments of TAFE students into these programs to assist their pathways into Australian Apprenticeships/Traineeships; and
- Maintaining close relationships with employers.
Employment Focus is interested in receiving applications from candidates with Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. While this is preferred, candidates willing to undertake Certificate IV study will be considered. You will have experience in relationship building and development skills. Knowledge and experience on Australian Apprenticeships and Traineeships would be an advantage.
A passionate, outgoing, self motivated and results-oriented individual your qualifications and experience will be supported by excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and fantastic organisational skills. You will also possess excellent problem solving ability, be able to build relationships and have a demonstrated ability to work well in a dynamic team environment, as well as the ability to work to deadlines, be organised and meet performance targets.
You will need a current Driver's Licence and if not already held, eligibility to apply for a current ‘Working with Children' Police Check. Employment Focus is looking for someone with proficiency in office based computer programs, software and related applications, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
