About the Opportunity

If you are a skilled and motivated LLN Specialist who thrives in challenging and new environments, STEPS has an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to the success of the National Training Services Team.

The main aim of this vital and varied role is to provide vocational expertise to trainers and training delivery staff including program quality, resource development, moderation and validation, and the development and facilitation of mentoring and professional development activities.

Some of your more specific duties will include:

  • Developing training resources and materials in line with ATQF standards;
  • Moderating and validating training assessment tools and supporting trainers in the development of quality training methods;
  • Providing professional development activities and support to trainers and staff involved in training delivery or the management of training delivery; and
  • Proactively work towards solutions, developing alternative courses of action and maintaining commitment to achieve program quality and outcomes.

The successful applicant will require minimum qualifications in Diploma of Teaching or Bachelors Degree plus Teacher’s Certificate or Bachelor of Education or Bachelors Degree plus Diploma of Education; or Bachelors Degree plus Diploma in Educational Studies (TESOL). Postgraduate qualifications in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or Adult Literacy is highly desirable.

In addition, you will have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience within the field and a working knowledge of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and requirements of a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively and flexibly across business units and with a variety of stakeholders including government agencies will also be highly regarded.

This role will suit a flexible, hard-working individual with a passion for and focus on continuous improvement. You will possess outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills in order to support effective communication with internal and external staff/clients as well as excellent time management, organisation and prioritisation skills.

Additional requirements of this position include a current class 'C' driver's license and a ‘Working with Children’ card or police check.
