About the Opportunity
STEPS has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Trainer - Aged Care to join its team in Townsville.
Reporting to the Site Manager, the main aim of this role is to provide high quality and professional training and assessment activities through facilitation of accredited and non-accredited Aged Care training programs.
Some of the key responsibilities of this role will be to:
- Undertake training and assessment validation activities for all training programs;
- Design and deliver effective work based learning and assessment strategies;
- Participate in the research and development of training programs, including the frequent review of programs and assessment validation activities to ensure high standard of quality, relevance and compliance;
- Undertake relevant administrative tasks, ensuring all documentation used in and arising from training delivery and assessment is created, maintained and stored in accordance with relevant policies and legislation; and
- Develop and maintain professional business relationships with key stakeholders, inclduing staff, employers, industry professional associations, accreditation bodies and the community.
The successful candidate will hold a Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and a minimum of 5 years experience working in Aged Care.
Your skills and experience will be supported by knowledge and proven experience in the delivery of accredited and non-accredited training, with current knowledge and understanding of AQTF.
Additionally, you will have demonstrated high level communication (written and verbal), facilitation and presentation skills. You will be proficient in the operation of Microsoft Office Suite with excellent keyboard skills, a proven ability to provide exceptional customer service and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A current C Class driver's licence and National Police Check for Working with Children are essential.
