About the Opportunity
Fantastic opportunities now exist for a number of Casual Child Carers with Centacare Tasmania in Hobart.
The aim of these rewarding roles is to provide before school care (7-9am), after school care (2-6pm) and vacation care (full days) in Catholic schools.
More specifically, your day to day duties will involve:
- Developing positive and supportive relationships with children;
- Ensuring policies in place are adhered to (e.g. care of sick children and emergency evacuation);
- Assisting with advising parents of enrolment, available programs and subsidies;
- Treating all parents with professionalism and dignity;
- Attending to parent inquiries in a courteous and effective manner; and
- Working effectively with families in caring for children.
There are a number of Casual positions on offer, allowing you a lifestyle with maximum flexibility.
Child care is a fun, creative and rewarding career. Accordingly, the most important pre-requisite for this job is to love working with children and to possess the caring, compassionate and nurturing qualities needed to grow children's confidence and learning capacities. A Certificate III, IV or Diploma in Child Care will be highly regarded, however experience is not essential. Unqualified child carers will be provided with the financial support to gain the necessary qualifications.
A current car driver's licence and possession of (or willingness to obtain) a Child Care Safety Screening is required. Please note, you must also have Australian Citizenship, Residency or Work Visa to apply for these roles.
