The Integrated Family and Youth Service (IFYS) provides a range of specialist support and intervention programs for children, young people and families. Working closely with other non-government and government agencies, the organisation operates from numerous locations throughout Queensland ranging from Brisbane through to the far north of the state.

About the Opportunity

The Integrated Family and Youth Services has an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader –Inclusive Living based at their Sunshine Coast office.

Reporting to the Inclusive Living Program Manager, you will lead a professional team of Case Facilitators, across a range of disability support programs, with the purpose of providing a continuum of quality services to children, young people and families within the community.

Some of your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Exercising a broad understanding and direction, involving the planning and coordination, as well as evaluation and reporting of existing and new program initiatives;
  • The development of budgets and review of accounts to ensure effective monitoring of expenditure;
  • Actively participating in case management processes for people with a disability
  • Reviewing and implementation of appropriate supervision, training and professional development processes and opportunities for the Inclusive Living Program team;
  • Recruitment, induction and support of new workers in partnership with IFYS;
  • Facilitation of regular staff meetings;
  • Contributing to the effective management and improvement of the program by working in collaboration with the program manager, team, and the chief operating Officer; and
  • Developing submissions to obtain resources for the organisation to meet identified client needs as part of the management team.

This position operates across Southeast and Central Queensland and there is an expectation of travel with expenses covered. This may include the need to stay over night in IFYS approved accommodation.

To be successful in this role, you will require a relevant degree in social sciences, disability, psychology, welfare or youth work, along with Suitability Notice (Commission for Children and Young People), Disability criminal history card and a current driver's licence.

As the successful candidate, you will also have experience in and/or qualifications in management or administration and be able to provide evidence of a commitment to continuous learning and personal professional development.

In support of your qualifications and experience you will have the ability to lead, manage and develop a team of staff, well developed organisational and negotiating skills, well developed planning and evaluation skills and a sound understanding of financial management processes.

Ideally, you will have high level of written/verbal communication and well developed administrative skills, including high level computer skills.

IFYS is seeking an individual with a strong commitment to and understanding of the principles and theories of client centred practice and disability support frameworks and a clear understanding of case management, and extensive experience in working with a wide range of community and governmental organisations, departments and groups.

The successful applicant will be rewarded with an attractive remuneration package circa $62,989 - $67,154. In addition, salary sacrificing of up to 30% is available for permanent positions.

IFYS is committed to staff development and provides full training in its Therapeutic Crisis Intervention framework, and up to $300 per annum professional development/training grants.
