About the Opportunity

ENERCON Wind Farm Services Australia (EWFSA) has two exciting opportunities for Service Technicians to join their busy team in Cowell, SA.

These are hands-on roles for Engineering (Electrical) tradespeople to carry out a range of duties associated with the assembly, installation, testing, commissioning, modification, fault finding, repair, maintenance and service of ENERCON Wind Energy Converters including all associated mechanical, electrical and electronic devices, systems and controls.

More specifically, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Performing skilled trade work, as a member of a small team of technicians to ensure the safe and competitive completion of work in accordance with contractual agreements;
  • Ensuring completion of on-site risk assessments and implementing control measures;
  • Installing, repairing, servicing and maintaining Wind Energy Converters, various equipment and plant associated with and used on the wind farms;
  • Maintaining, testing and minor repairs of portable plant and equipment;
  • Maintaining a continual focus on safety by rigorous adherence to safety standards and practices;
  • Completing supporting paperwork for each job; and
  • Miscellaneous housekeeping duties (warehousing, cleaning vehicles etc).

To be successful in this role you will hold a trade certificate in an engineering trade, such as Electrical Fitter, Electrical Mechanic or Electronics. Please note: 4th year apprentices in a relevant trade are also welcome to apply.

EWFSA is seeking highly motivated team players, with the demonstrated ability to produce quality output and work at heights. You will have sound knowledge of relevant legislation and standards, and a commitment to complying with OH&S standards in all aspects of your work. Previous experience in a similar type of industry or working environment will be highly valued.

The company requires someone who has the demonstrated ability to regularly climb structures and work safely at heights, and with a satisfactory level of fitness - please note, a pre-employment medical is compulsory. The successful candidate will have good communication skills and an intermediate level of computer literacy. All applicants will hold a current driver's licence, while certificates in OH&S Training and Senior First Aid are desirable.

You will have the flexibility to travel intrastate and to other regions from time to time, and will participate in an "after hours on call roster" as required. Generally working 6am - 6pm Monday - Friday, any extra hours will be subject to overtime rates and call out allowances.
