This is a newly created role within a state-wide team with supervisory responsibility across the North and North West of Tasmania, working within a program that provides intensive support for clients with multiple and complex needs (which may include issues with mental health, alcohol and other drugs, antisocial behaviour, living skills and disabilities) who are change ready and in need of intensive support for up to two years.

The SITS program will provide support and focus in assisting clients to increase their capacity to live independently and participate in the community, through services such as life skill development, emotional support, crisis intervention, information and referral.

Reporting to the Program Coordinator, your day to day duties will involve:

  • Overseeing all day to day regional (Nth & NW) operations;
  • Clinical and professional supervision of the team, including team meetings, case reviews and worker file audits;
  • Reporting on statistical outcomes to the Program Coordinator;
  • Maintaining a small caseload of SITS clients within Same House Different Landlord (Colony 47 program) properties;
  • Providing on-call duties; and
  • Maintaining external stakeholder relationships.

The successful applicant will hold a degree in Psychology or Social Work, and have experience in working with clients in the disability, mental health, child & family, justice & corrective services and/or homelessness sectors. You will be a compassionate and empathetic communicator, with strong clinical supervision skills and the experience in welfare programs to maintain an appropriate degree of professional separation from clients.

This role requires a highly organised candidate with experience in providing case support, including all associated reporting, and in social and psychological assessments. Within each day you will be communicating with a diverse range of people, both staff and clients, so you must be a highly effective communicator, in written, verbal and interpersonal capacities. You will demonstrate a genuine passion for assisting people with high and complex needs, and the flexibility to work outside of normal business hours when required.

A current car driver's licence is required. Please note, you must also have Australian Citizenship, Residency or Work Visa to apply for these roles. Shortlisted candidates will be subject to an employee screening process.

You will be working as part of a combination of teams from both Centacare Tasmania and Red Cross with substantial experience in providing multidisciplinary intensive and specialist support to clients with a multiplicity of need. The SITS Program's teams from both come from a wide range of disciplines, with the determination to work together to achieve positive client outcomes.

The successful applicants will be welcomed to an enthusiastic team culture, and will be rewarded with an attractive remuneration package comprising of salary around $50K plus superannuation, plus access to NFP salary packaging.
