About the Organisation

Outcare is Western Australia's only specialist non government provider of crime prevention services and programs. It was established in the early 1960s and has grown into an award winning and well respected organisation, operating in a variety of areas to enhance community stability and safety.

By taking a holistic approach to crime prevention, Outcare aims to make WA a safer place to live by providing rehabilitation and support services for offenders, ex-offenders and their families.

With a broad range of education, intervention and reform programs Outcare reduces the re-offending rate of people in conflict with the justice system and supports their successful rehabilitation and re-integration into society.

About the Opportunity

Outcare is seeking a qualified and experienced HR Manager to manage the human resource needs of the service.  This part time role will see you working 37.5 hours per fortnight and offers excellent flexibility around working days.

As an integral member of the East Perth team you will fulfill all processes associated with staff recruitment and selection.

More specifically, your key functions will include (but not be limited to):

  • Updating staff records and maintaining an ordered and organised documentation system;
  • Drafting correspondence, including employment offers, contracts and salary changes;
  • Providing payroll support;
  • Assisting in processing of all inductions and terminations;
  • Developing position descriptions in collaboration with managers; and
  • Administering and coordinating staff training programs.

A strong understanding of industrial relations and law, modernised awards and their application, and HR policy is essential.

The successful candidate will possess relevant qualifications and demonstrate a high level of communication skills with peers, staff, the public and government stakeholders who represent the organisation.
