About the Organisation
The Domestic Violence Prevention Centre Gold Coast Inc (DVPCGC Inc) is a community-based organisation that has been operating for 18 years and focuses on the safety and wellbeing of women and their children who have experienced domestic violence.
The Beenleigh, Eagleby and North Gold Coast Domestic and Family Violence Outreach Service (BENGCDFVOS) will provide an integrated early intervention response for vulnerable and at risk families in order to divert them away from the statutory child protection system.
The program will provide coordination and support of local services, individual counselling and group work for women and their children affected by domestic and family violence as well as information, training and resources to other Family Support Services.
About the Opportunity
The Domestic Violence Prevention Centre Gold Coast Inc (DVPCGC Inc) is seeking a full time dynamic, passionate and innovative Manager to join their Beenleigh, Eagleby and Northern Gold Coast Domestic and Family Violence Outreach Service (BENGCDFVOS) located at Beenleigh.
Reporting to the Director of the DVPCGC Inc the main aim of this role is to lead, manage and strengthen the day to day responsibilities of the Domestic and Family Violence Outreach Service.
Some of your more specific contributions will include:
- Leadership, management, organisational establishment and development;
- Effective organisational governance;
- Management, clinical supervision and development of staff;
- Financial management, reporting and accountability; and
- Strengthening linkages with existing Coordinated Community Response, Domestic Violence Integrated Response and the newly formed FSA.
The successful candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications in the human services field and well developed knowledge of domestic violence and child protection legislation and case work/case management with a particular focus on the impact on women.
Substantial experience in the management of community based organisations is essential, specifically in the areas of planning, financial management, service delivery and evaluation, organisational development and a capacity to provide effective leadership to a diverse workforce.
Your understanding of the governance responsibilities of non government agencies (including reporting and compliance) will be supported by the ability to undertake clinical supervision of a diverse counselling team managing complex domestic violence issues.
In addition, you will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively across a range of stakeholders with diverse and complex needs.
A current driver's licence and a current 'Positive Notice Blue Card' for child related employment are also requirements of this position.
