Envirotech Monitoring predominantly service the mining industry but also work closely with state and federal governments as well as private clients such as research agencies.

This includes the design, fabrication and installation of water quality gauging systems, weather stations, and custom built, project specific monitoring systems. About the Opportunity
Envirotech Monitoring has an exciting opportunity for an Technical Assistant to join their small team based in Darwin, NT.

Reporting to the Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical and general support for the environmental and data management operations. Additionally, you'll be assisting with the design, construction and installation of remote environmental monitoring systems as well as the management and compilation of environmental data and providing support for related field sampling activities.
More specifically, your day to day responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Calibrating electronic sensing equipment;
- Assisting with fabricating and assembling monitoring systems;
- Collecting samples from surface and groundwater sources;
- Data management, data processing and assisting with reporting requirements;
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment; and
- Preparing and planning for field work.
To be successful in this role, you'll need a wide variety of skills and experience and a technical aptitude. You'll be responsible for assisting with the management and analysis of complex data sets and, as such, you'll be computer literate with experience using applications including spreadsheets, databases, word processing and desktop operating systems.
You'll be a self-starter with excellent time management skills and an ability to solve problems as they arise. Because this position requires some remote work under difficult climatic conditions, occasionally on short notice, you'll also be flexible, driven and motivated to succeed. Additionally, you'll be working as part of a small, dedicated team so you'll be an excellent communicator with great interpersonal skills.
This position requires a current NT drivers licence and First Aid Certificate.
About the Benefits
In return for your hard work and dedication, you will enjoy an attractive remuneration package circa $40K-60K (dependent on experience) plus super. You'll also receive 4 weeks of annual leave as well as 10 days of personal leave.
Short notice work and long days in the field will be rewarded with overtime compensation.
