About the Opportunity

Due to ongoing infrastructure development PIAC has an exciting opportunity for a Construction Foreman to join their energetic, young team.

This newly created role sits within council's standalone business division. Reporting to the Construction Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the entire construction process of residential properties. As a hard working, reliable team player you will lead by example as you work alongside your team. Your project management skills will also see you planning and overseeing all elements of the construction process.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Allocating tasks to, directing, and supervising staff;
  • Taking delivery of, and maintaining building equipment and stocks;
  • Providing quotations and estimates on required building works;
  • Monitoring compliance with all Council policies and procedures and maintaining a safe working environment;
  • Ensuring plant and equipment is suitable for purpose and is utilised safely and that the workshop, service plant and equipment is maintained to an acceptable standard; and
  • Reporting to the Construction Manager on projects.

To be successful in this role, you will have trade qualifications in a construction-related field. You will also have experience in the end-to-end construction process for residential properties.

Importantly, you will be able to demonstrate your abilities in leading a team, and will be flexible and adaptable in your work. Previous experience working in indigenous organisations/remote communities, plus an understanding of the issues affecting Indigenous Australians, will be highly regarded.

Please note, this is not a FIFO role. A current driver's licence is also required for this role.
